Unlike many other kiwi varieties, Actinidia deliciosa 'Jenny' is self-pollinating. It does take a while for the kiwi to start bearing fruit, namely three to four years. But once the plant does start producing kiwis, it produces abundant delicious fruit in subsequent years. Besides the tasty fruit, Actinidia deliciosa produces beautiful pinkish-white flowers in May and June, brightening up the garden. To ensure the kiwis develop their sweet flavor, it's important to leave them on the plant as long as possible. The fruit can be harvested in October and November.
Care
Actinidia deliciosa prefers a sunny spot in the garden. It's best to prune it in December or January. This helps keep it in shape and promotes fruit set. The plant is winter-hardy, but it does lose its leaves in winter.
Size
The plants are approximately 20–40 cm tall upon delivery (including the nursery pot). They are delivered in a nursery pot with a diameter of 9 cm.
