The Allium, also known as the ornamental onion, is a striking bulb plant that adds color to the garden. They bloom between May and June, just when the spring flowers are past their prime and the summer flowers haven't yet begun to bloom. This makes them the perfect bulbs to bridge this often dull period in the garden! The Allium Purple Sensation is a striking plant that catches your eye with its beautiful, deep purple flowers and a height of approximately 75 cm. They look striking from a distance, but the closer you get, the more beautiful they become! The bulbs can be planted between September and December.

Care

An ornamental onion is easy to care for: it primarily needs a sunny location. Watering the Allium at least once a week is sufficient. In the fall, prune away any spent flowers, but leave the green leaves. These will die back naturally in winter. The Allium Purple Sensation is winter-hardy, so you can leave it outdoors. That way, you can enjoy it again next summer!
